Since December 25, 2008 the special event station 4A1DXXE (4 Anniversary 1 DXXE) is active on all bands (160-10) and all modes (CW, SSB, RTTY) celebrating the 4th anniversary of Grupo DXXE. Activity will last until January 6, 2009.

QSL goes via N7RO either direct or via the bureau. Additionally QSOs will be uploaded daily to LOTW.

Luderitz, Namibia

All preparations are on schedule! Current plans are to complete packing on 04 January and depart on 05 January with the trip to Luderitz (1600km by car towing a trailer) anticipated to take two days of travel followed by another day to assemble the station for operation.

Look for us starting moonrise of January 7th. We expect to start disassembling the station around the 15th and arrive back in Pretoria on the 18th.

Unfortunately we could not get a special callsign for our DXpedition. Therefore we will be using HB9CRQ Dan’s US-call (to keep the call short). Our call for all EME operation will be V5/KT6Q.

Since December 23, 2008 the 6m beacon XE1KK/B on 50.024 MHz has been reactivated. The beacon currently transmits with 20 watts using a 7 element yagi pointing NW. QTH is Mexico City, grid square EK09.
