Ieri sera prima di andare a dormire ho fatto un rapido scan sopra i 1600 khz e ho ascoltato con piacere diversi segnali di emittenti pirata dall’olanda e dalla germania. Purtroppo  non e’ facile identificare queste stazioni che trasmettono soprattutto orribile musica folk olandese e fanno pochi annunci tra i saluti in olandese. Ho notato che la maggior parte delle stazioni chiede rapporti d’ascolto e richieste di canzoni via sms. Ecco il log di ieri sera:

Oggi dopo parecchio tempo mi sono messo ad ascoltare le emittenti pirata in banda 41 metri e ho scoperto con piacere che l’attivita’ di queste stazioni continua, ecco quello che e’ ho ascoltato, le stazioni identificate sono poche a causa del poco tempo a disposizione e del molto qrm locale (i miei figli)

Ho scoperto dal sito di Universal-Radio la disponibilita’ di questo nuovo ricevitore dell’AOR dedicato alla ricerca e alla visualizzazione di segnali video nella gamma 900-2800 Mhz. Ecco le caratteristiche tecniche:

The AOR AR-STV is a wireless video receiver covering 900 to 2800 MHz. It features a 2.5 inch color LCD display.
It has a recorder and sensor that captures video signals in real-time. Its built-in clock allows images to be time-stamped and an optional 4 GB SD memory card can be used to store up to nearly 2000 images.
The AR-STV can detect NTSC, PAL, CCIR, EIA or scrambled reverse polarity video signals. It receives and displays video signals on L-band (1.2 GHz) or S-band (2.4 GHz).
The USB connector makes it easy to download stored images into a computer. Image format is 50 KB/image storing image, frequency, time and date. There is a relay controlled Alarm Output jack for the activation of an external alarm device (not supplied). It operates from four AA size batteries or external 4.8-6 VDC 500 ma power.

SAQ TRANSMISSION ON CHRISTMAS EVE

DECEMBER 24TH 2008

There will be, as before, a transmission with the Alexanderson 200 kW alternator on VLF 17.2 kHz from Grimeton Radio/SAQ on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, 24th 2008 December.

The message transmission will take place at 08:00 UTC and will be repeated at 08:30 UTC.  The transmitter will be tuned up from around 07:30 UTC.

There will be no activity on amateur radio frequencies with the call SK6SAQ this time.

CHU Moving to 7850 kHz

After seventy years of broadcasting Canada’s official time, radio station CHU will move from 7335 KHz to 7850 KHz. The change goes into effect on 01 January 2009 at 00:00 UTC.

In April 2007, the International Telecommunications Union re-allocated the 7300-7350 KHz band from “fixed service” to broadcasting. Since then, interference on the 7335 KHz frequency has come from many broadcasters around the world, prompting CHU’s move (From CQ Magazine)
