I (W7GJ) wanted to announce this DXpedition as far in advance as possible, in order to provide adequate time for people to gear up for it in the event they are interested in working E51 (previously ZK1). Please mark your calendars! Bob Sutton ZL1RS (2m) and I (6m) are meeting in Rarotonga at the end of March to activate E51 on EME on both bands. More station details will be announced as we get closer to departure.

Grazie all’amico Piero I0KPT vi segnalo una simpatica iniziativa di un gruppo di studenti del Master post-universitario (2° livello) su “Space and Communication Systems”, organizzato dall’Università dell’Aquila con il supporto di aziende del gruppo Finmeccanica, tra le quali Telespazio S.p.A., che ha intrapreso a favore dell’attività di alcuni radioamatori.

Gli studenti del Master,  informati  del fatto che in California esiste un’antenna gemella della “Fucino 1” (la storica antenna col gonnellino, che dal 1967 rappresenta una icona del Centro Spaziale del Fucino) che sta per essere smantellata per far spazio a speculazioni edilizie e che un gruppo di attivissimi radioamatori sta cercando di mantenere in vita, usandola per collegamenti EME, hanno deciso di inviare un messaggio di solidarietà!!

Two weeks left to the P29 departure and Mike, K6MYC replaced Hugh K6HFA. Mike will be taking an EME station.  The team will also be making a big effort on 160m with an amplifier, Titanex and separate receiving antennas.  This is a costly effort with equipment having to be air freighted ahead.  Your donations would be most welcome.
